Team Grey: Midaxi Dress

I’ve been enjoying wearing this lightweight grey tshirt knit dress to throw on over my swimsuit for my swimming during the week. I ended up getting three different colors (grey, light navy and turquoise) because they:

1. Were cheap,
2. Are cool for the Summer,
3. Have nice vertical lines and waist definition,
4. the grey one has a value value close to my skin draws less attention to my arms.

I doubt they will last more than a season with all the chlorine, sunscreen and washing but that’s fine.  It’s nice to have something to throw on and it’s done. I think I prefer this midaxi length dress to skirts because of my short waist.

From the pool to a dinner date! Amazing cover up that looks beautiful on you.

Wow such an upgrade to a basic swimsuit cover up but just as easy.
Interesting comment about the color and your skin tone. I will have to play with that to see if I can feel better about my arms.
The blue in me is loving that shade of blue. I am thinking it looks Fab on you.

That is a super-elegant cover up! Wow! I admired those dresses when you linked me to them earlier. This one looks beautiful on you and so versatile.

Love it! Tempted by the black and olive versions!

Great find! And versatile. What’s not to like? YLF!

    Tempted by the striped one.

I have the grey one and love it. It’s been a favorite house dress — something to wear when I don’t really want to leave my jams. T Tahari is better quality than some similarly priced diffusion lines, and it will likely hold up better than the price point would suggest.

Very elegant. I can see the appeal.

Wow, you look amazing in that dress! And I particularly love how the bag coordinates with your hair and highlights the shoes, too. Absolutely fabulous!

Great 'one and done' dress, and it really suits you.

What a great outfit! Relaxed elegance! Love how beautifully all the items harmonize with your hair colour.

Lucky you! This is the kind of dress that you can wear practically anywhere and easily style differently for various occasions/purposes. Great idea to get it in three cool colours that are perfect for your colouring. I would do the same if it was available here. Love the details and lines, including the round neck, which is--at least for me--a rare find among myriads of -V-necked summer dresses and tops.

What a great find, smart to duplicate. Looks great on you.

Looks great on you! Very elegant cover up. I like the colors too.

  • lyn67 replied 2 years ago

Love it with all your whites and love the  cut with the twist on the middle section-so flattering!

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

    FABULOUS

You wear grey with the best of them, Lana! The blues are gorgeous on you too. You are right to duplicate that dress.

  • Laurie replied 2 years ago

Really figure flattering. You look terrific.

  • ChristelJ replied 2 years ago

What a lovely dress. You really have your best colors down. I am also aware of values when I wear sleeveless; it can really make a difference if one cares about that aspect. You look great in the grey and I'm sure in all these colors too!

It looks amazing on you. Great find.

I LOVE this on you and think you should buy another grey one so that when this one wears out, you have another. I rarely do this myself, but I do with great basic knits and have never regretted the duplication.

  • Minaminu replied 2 years ago

Fits very well - I can see the appeal of these dresses!

  • Zaeobi replied 2 years ago

Wow, a great fit on you - YLF! That material (thin enough to drape but thick enough to be opaque) is a rare but flattering combo!

How tall did you say you were again? I notice it comes to just above your ankles - the perfect length for a summer dress, imho!

Perfect throw and go outfit! Very nice

Wonderful dress. Looks perfect for a summer afternoon/evening. Nice arms. And shoulders as well.

  • Runcarla replied 2 years ago

I hope they last longer than one summer because they look like perfect summer dresses, and would be great as resort wear if you plan a winter escape.

  • Mary Beth (formerly LBD) replied 2 years ago

I really love this drsss! It really suits your coloring and lovely figure!

  • Jessikams replied 2 years ago

Great dress and the twist front really goes with the style of your swimsuit too.

I used to like dresses as swim cover-ups, but these days thigh chafing really bothers me, so I prefer a loose stretchy romper. But it’s tough to find rompers that are not too short.

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

Found a shell top for you, Lana:

  • Sal replied 2 years ago

This is a lovely outfit - it really suits you.

I do find cotton knit dresses so so useful but I agree they don’t last terribly well. But they also often get hard wear.

Are you going to take one of these dresses travelling- I would think one or two would be brilliant!’

  • BlueJay replied 2 years ago

The dress was made for you, Lana! Good idea to duplicate!

  • Helena replied 2 years ago

    Fantastic dress!

  • Lana replied 2 years ago

Angie that is perfect! I might have to get it.

Sal, great idea, I think I’m bringing a couple of them.

    Thanks Bluejay and Helena!
