Spring Capsule: Week One

Evaluating my capsule for the first week, I’ve found I don’t mind sticking to a pared down color palette so far, but I’ve reached for a darker base according on my mood and how I am feeling about my body. Don’t get me wrong, I really don’t have much to complain about, except for feeling tired and bloated from too much time at home on screens. We are in the middle of the annual chartreuse pollen blizzard here in Chapel Hill, NC so another reason for wearing darker bottoms.

Here is a collage of photos from most of the outfits worn since the beginning of April.

Observations:
1. Lilac Pink Booties are getting a workout even though I was unsure about the attention I might get from wearing them in the beginning. They do seem to give people joy and make me happy too.
2. I’m reaching for shorter jackets more than my usual duster length I wore over the winter, although they feel strange at home, so am adding some short cardigans to my wish list. I love the length of the cropped one in pic #3 which hits at my natural waist.
3. Jeans are my go to for bottoms most days, and I want to continue to work on casual outfits that fit into my lifestyle of being at home, walking on trails and the occasional get together.

Ooh, very nice! Everything works together so well. Love the dress with the moto jacket.

Love all of these, so much so I cannot pick a favorite.  Looking stylish and comfortable.

They all look great! My fave is the dress with the light moto too.

A pollen blizzard? ugh. My nose is itching just thinking about it. Interesting that one has to consider what to wear because of it and that it's an annual thing!

I love those lilac boots and am so happy you're enjoying them. Your spring capsule looks fab. Good luck with the weathering the pollen!!

Pretty outfits - like all of them! That's what I need for my wardrobe now - some polished "happy" pieces that could be worn everywhere ( was focused mostly on work wear things that go with black/navy pants and grew tired of it ;) ).

YOU LOOK FAB! Nice and tight Spring capsule. The dress is my KILLER fave :)

best review that a pair of boots can get. So glad you kept them.
I like how your spring is starting out

Well, that went well, didn’t it? You look great & comfy in every one of these. Don’t think I’ve seen you in a dress before. It fits right in, as fab as the other pieces, and nicely styled.

For capsule wardrobes, I think varying lengths of tops/toppers is key, as important as variety of shapes on the bottom—unless you’re a uniform dresser, which neither of us tend towards in the least (from what I can tell).

I hear you on the green goop. The week every spring when I think I’m sick, only to slowly figure out it’s “just” allergies is getting earlier every year.

I love me some chartreuse, but not in the form of pollen! With my wardrobe I think I could probably hide in plain sight. All joking aside must be awful to deal with.
However nothing is impacting your fabulous spring style….and those lilac boots! Pollen stompers!

Thank you Brooklyn, Star, Carol, and Rachylou, you are all so sweet!

Blue Jay, Thank you! You can wash your car one day and the next it is coated in chartreuse powder again!

Merwoman, “pollen stompers” I love it!

Slimcat, it’s hard to switch from dressy to casual. I did the same moving from a large city to this very relaxed college town.

Thanks so much Angie and SF, I don’t wear dresses much but I’m going to try more this summer. I’m glad it works! SF I definitely needed to add more tops to this capsule which I have done.

KKards, I’m so happy I kept these boots too. Very comfy.

I can see the first three outfits best and they each look like spring.  I like the floral scarf I the third outfit.  I broke out sleeveless tops for my second booster  vaccine yesterday worn under toppers. This week more snow is predicted.

Nice! I especially like the two with the moto jacket!

I am swooning over those booties. Definitely a winner! I'm so glad you're enjoying them.
