Show me your Light Purple Pants Outfits?

I’m looking for inspiration on how to wear some lilac jeans I have which are slim cut. I haven’t worn them much and am considering replacing them with a wider cut because these can be hot in the summer. Here’s a couple of examples that I am not that happy with, but it may be the shoes. Please show me how you wear light purple on your bottom half?

I don't have any lilac pants but I agree, I think it is the shoes.  Too visually heavy for these pants.  Who knows why, usually a contrast like that is what I love (and you too I'm sure - ala Gritty Glam) but in this case not.  Don't ditch them.  I am going to look at your other shoes and will be back.

Okay, not sure if the pics in your Finds and Collections are what you actually own but I think you have a lot to work with.  If you want a boot what about your lilac combat boots and your snake skin print boots.  Your high tops, and those berry sneakers could look cute casual.  Those ice shooties (closed back, open front) would work very well I think.

I no longer have my lilac pants, since I figured out that chinos aren’t a good cut for me, but here’s what I do with my “primrose” pants. I pretty much keep it all in the (color) family..

I really like that scarf, and the way it works with your pants.

Thanks Star, maybe in this case less contrast would work best.  I’ll try them with the shoes you mentioned, something like this but with lilac jeans instead of silver jeans. I need some toughened up elements with them because they feel too sugary sweet without them, and snakeskin would do it.

Stag, I’ll try some tonal looks as well.  Burgundy,  I never thought of that!

I bought a pair of wide leg lilac jeans maybe 2 years ago - inspired by Runcarla’s lilac outfits - and have never worn them . That said , I have a lilac / navy/ olive camo print cropped jacket I thought would make a great outfit ( also never worn ) Navy and olive were my planned shoe/ top/ bag complement/ capsule for those jeans . I don’t share your colouring but I could see those colours working nicely for you too . I’m simply not that adventurous a dresser and the furthest I’ll go with pale coloured bottoms is white or cream . Oh well - at least the jeans and jacket were very inexpensive sale items . No finds or photos , sorry .

I do think I’d wear lighter colours with lilac pants or something tonal like SF.

I agree with others that the footwear is a little heavy. White sandals? Or open toe booties?

I don’t have light purple pants but I think they are very cool. I looked around for some inspiration :)

Nikki, I think you’re on to something  — I’ve been trying to wear them in cool weather and they look better in warm weather outfits and lighter colors.  Thank you!

I was going to vote for a silver or light grey top.

  • Stagiaire Fash replied 1 year ago

Cat2, I agree that matching tone in that other way (“value”?) could also work really well.

A year ago I got a pair of lilac jeans.  They went with quite a few things I had in my closet.https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....lac-for-ss

I always wore them with a rolled hem, since they were a little short for PPL.  Got one season out of them, and then unfortunately spilled an oily substance on them, and could never get the mark out.  :-(

I repeated the first outfit several times, and also wore it with the striped T (below in Finds) which has a lilac stripe, and the lilac T (also below) which was a perfect match.

Could you wear them with your pearl grey combat boots instead? It should add the grit you're looking for, whilst keeping it tonal :)

Oh I don't have a picture but will wear and take one this week! I go either light or pink/red usually.

Thank you everyone, I’ve tried several ways to wear them this morning with lighter neutrals, colors and with a red violet and I just don’t like them. I don’t think the problem is the color, because I love lilac obviously, it’s the volume of color and where it’s located. I’m ok with a jacket, top or accessories, but there is just too much of it in jeans and it accentuates my long rise and shorter legs.  I felt the same way about a pair of turquoise jeans I struggled with, loved the color but not on my bottom half. The closest I got to liking them is below in a column of lilac, but wow that’s a lot of lilac, LOL. I might could make them work with higher heels, but that’s not versatile enough for me

They are now in the donation bag!

Did you try them with your fringe jacket from Nic & Zoey, the reversible dolly tank, or this?

  • Lana replied 1 year ago

Stag thanks for checking, I did try that top, and I like it much more with dark pants.

  • Stagiaire Fash replied 1 year ago

    I agree with you there.
Meant to say “reversible silky tank”, not “Dolly”. It’s in your finds

  • Lana replied 1 year ago

Thanks for trying Stag! I just think it a combination of having the color on the bottom half and the shape of the jeans that’s not working for me.

  • Stagiaire Fash replied 1 year ago

    Got it.

  • Joy replied 1 year ago

I like your lilac pant outfits but have never had any of that color myself, one of my least flattering colors.

  • Star replied 1 year ago

I have decided I prefer more neutral colors for pants on me and going forward will only purchase such.
