Ruched skirt with Lilac Hoodie and Sneaks

It’s turned chilly so thought I would try the flared skirt and sweatshirt formula. This is the skirt I dyed from beige to gray — it has ruching but also flares the bottom. A new look for me but very comfortable with a graphic tee underneath for when it warms up today. Opinions and tweaks welcome.

I love grey & pink together. And good job on “remaking” the skirt. Super cute athleisure outfit

Fantastic job Lana! Love how it turned out! Is your skirt 100% cotton? Did you use washing machine? Presume RIT…which shade?
To die for with the lilac top!

  • Lana replied 1 year ago

Merwoman yep 100% cotton. I dyed it in the washing machine with pearl gray Rit dye. Of course the threads did not change color but I expected that.

    Thanks everyone!

Thanks Lana, its actually nice that the threads didn’t change colour, nice bit of contrast!

Great outfit, and great job on the skirt! Makes me wonder if I could dye a pair of pale lilac jeans to a colour that would be more versatile for me...

Pretty color combo! Actually the skirt looks olive to me.

Suntiger, it is a cool gray with a green undertone.  Must be the original beige coming through.

Carol, I have a pair of lilac jeans I never wear as well!  I don’t think I’m a colored jeans person.

i don't know if I am or not, but the pale lilac is a bit of an orphan in my closet. I do have quite a bit of white I can pair them with this spring, but I think I would get more use and happiness out of a bright or mid tone colour than a light pastel.

The skirt and bag both look olive on my monitor but are still fab with lilac.  Olive goes with about anything.  I love your choice of graphic tee.
